Caps Ink Veteran Defenceman

SUMMERSIDE, PE – The Summerside D Alex Macdonald Western Capitals are excited to announce the signing of 2000 born Charlottetown PEI native Chris McQuaid.

McQuaid is a veteran of the QMJHL compiling 213 regular season games where he accumulated 36 points and 229 PIM.  McQuaid stands 6’2 and weighs in at 185lbs.

A graduate of the Ch’town Minor hockey association, McQuaid played Midget for the Kensington Wild and at Redbull Academy in Austria before joining the QMJHL.

Caps GM Pat McIver says “We drafted Chris’ rights to the MHL in 2017 in hopes that he may be a 20-year-old for us.  We are beyond excited to get a commitment from McQuaid.  We expect him to be a player that can contribute at both ends of the rink.  The ability to add a player with Chris’ experience is exciting for the organization.”

The Caps are currently working with local officials as well as the MHL on there return to play program. Training camp is slated to start early October with the MHL starting the last weekend in October.
