Caps Sign Veteran Forward
SUMMERSIDE, PE – The Summerside D Alex MacDonald Western Capitals are excited to announce the signing of 2000 born Kingston Ontario native Cole Edwards. Edwards suited up the past 2 seasons with the Charlottetown Islanders of the QMJHL where he accumulated 19 goals and 8 assists for 27 points in 108 games. Before joining Charlottetown Edwards played for the Kingston Voyageurs of the OJHL where he had 30 goals and 30 assists for 60 points in 100 games over his 16 and 17 year old seasons. The Caps acquired Edwards CJHL rights in a trade last season with the Collingwood Blues (Formerly Kingston Voyageurs).
Caps GM Pat McIver says “We are excited to get a commitment from Edwards. We expect him to be a player that can contribute at both ends of the rink. The ability to add a player with Cole’s experience is exciting for the organization.”
The Caps are currently working with local officials as well as the MHL on there return to play program. Training camp is slated to start mid September with an October start up. Season ticket and other important information will be released soon.
