6 Summerside Natives Suiting Up For The Capitals This Season

The Summerside D. Alex MacDonald Ford Western Capitals are set for their home opener this Saturday night against the Edmundston Blizzard at 7pm. After splitting their first four games on the road, they are excited to get back to Credit Union Place, where the Western Capitals posted a 21-4 record at home last season. There will be lots of hometown flair in the line up this season as 15 island born players are on the Western Capitals including 6 born here in Summerside. Those six are Ed McNeill, Brodie MacArthur, Zach Thususka, Colby MacArthur, Austin Taylor, and Bennett MacArthur. For Brodie and Colby this will be the first time the two brothers will suit up together at home. Brodie had this to say about playing with Colby ” It’s pretty cool to play together for the first time in the same rink we grew up playing in, it should be pretty special for our parents and family as well.” Brodie currently sits second in MHL points with 2 goals and 9 assists through 4 games, he trails his linemate TJ Shea who has 5 goals and 8 assists thus far.
