Western Capitals acquire Madgett

The Summerside Western Capitals have acquired the rights to goaltender Sam Madgett from the Miramichi Timberwolves in exchange for forward Cam Griffin.

Madgett, an 18-year-old goaltender from Stillwater Lake, Nova Scotia, stands 6’3″ and joins the Capitals after spending the 2025–26 season in the QMJHL with the Halifax Mooseheads and in the AJHL with the Lloydminster Bobcats. He was originally selected by Halifax in the 10th round of the 2023 QMJHL Entry Draft, and by the Pictou County Crushers in the 5th round of the 2023 MHL Draft.

Griffin was selected by the Capitals earlier this year with one of the club’s territorial selections. We wish Cam all the best as he continues his hockey career in Miramichi.
