Summerside Capitals ranked #2 in CJHL Top 20
TORONTO – The Canadian Junior Hockey League announced Monday that the Rockland Nationals (CCHL) have been slotted No. 1 in its initial Top 20 Rankings – Fuelled by Gatorade – for the 2024-25 season.
The front-runners in the Central Canada Hockey League are a perfect 6-0 to commence the campaign, having only allowed a CCHL-low seven goals-against in that span.
Coming in at No. 2 in the listings, which are compiled by an independent scouting service, are the Summerside Western Capitals (MHL).
Billy McGuigan’s squad boasts five straight wins to begin their season in the Maritime Hockey League, while notching a MHL-best 34 goals along the way.
Slotted No. 3 in the 118-team CJHL is the Yorkton Terriers (SJHL).
Yorkton has kicked off their season with four victories in succession with a solid start in the Saskatchewan Junior Hockey League, featuring a SJHL-high 22 tallies to their credit early on.
At No. 4 is another MHL club, the Edmundston Blizzard.
Edmundston is also 5-0 and sport a goal differential of plus-14.
Meanwhile, the Selkirk Steelers (MJHL) round out the Top 5 in the opening rankings.
With a 5-0 start to boost their fortunes this month, Selkirk sits atop of the 13-team Manitoba Junior Hockey League table heading into October.
