Capitals battle back from 4-0 deficit to earn key point

The Summerside D. Alex MacDonald Ford Western Capitals battled back on Saturday night from a 4-0 deficit against the Amherst Ramblers in Amherst. The Capitals would snap their 9 game winning streak losing 6-5 in a shootout, in a game without reigning league MVP TJ Shea, as well as one of their top defensemen in Noah Massie. With the point, the Capitals pulled in 11 points out of a possible 12 in 11 days, not an easy task but one to be very happy with. “We never gave up, most teams could have packed it in after a 4-0 deficit but not our team, they battled back and got a crucial point.” GM Pat McIver leading the way offensively for the Capitals was Kallum Muirhead with a pair of goals and assists, Dylan Riley, Cam Roberts and Jesse Annear all found the back of the net, and Brodie MacArthur had 3 assists up front while logging major minutes in the absence of Shea.

next action for the Capitals is Thursday, January 24th as they host the Grand Falls Rapids at Credit Union Place puck drop set for 7pm.
