Brodie MacArthur Named Captain for 2019-2020 Season

The Summerside D. Alex MacDonald Ford Western Capitals are excited to announce, Summerside native, Brodie MacArthur has been named captain for the 2019-2020 season. This will mark MacArthur’s fourth season as a Capital, coming off a franchise tying record for points in a season with 110 tying him with Darcy Tuplin. Brodie was named league MVP this past season, as well as Hockey PEI Player of the Year. When asked about being captain for his hometown team, MacArthur said, “Thankful for the opportunity to be a leader for this team, and he’s ready to get this season started.” For Head Coach Billy McGuigan he had this to say about naming MacArthur Captain. “Brodie comes from a great family, his father Rodney was a standout junior hockey player with the Charlottetown Abbies. Both Rodney and Kim (Brodie’s parents) instill high moral values. They are a driven family and we are proud to be a community hockey team. Brodie is exactly what we look for in a Captain, which is character, leadership, and commitment. Brodie’s on ice performance has been exceptional to say the least, we take pride in developing great people and hockey players. Brodie has increased his productivity each and every year, and I look forward to watching Brodie grow as the new Captain of the Summerside Capitals.”

Training camp is set to kick off on Tuesday, August 27th at Credit Union Place.
