Caps strike late to trim Miramichi

SUMMERSIDE - The Summerside Western Capitals scored three unanswered goals in less than three minutes late in the third period to defeat the Miramichi Timberwolves 5-2 on Sunday night.

The MHL (Maritime Junior Hockey League) exhibition game attracted an announced crowd of 577 spectators to Credit Union Place.

Craig MacLaughlan scored what proved to be the game-winning goal at 14:43 of the third period to snap a 2-2 tie. Trevor Carmichael netted his third of the game at 15:36 to make it 4-2, and Devan Gunn's power-play marker at 17:14 rounded out the scoring...(click for more)
