Caps, Timberwolves' series heating up

SUMMERSIDE - It was a good old-fashioned playoff hockey game!
The Summerside Western Capitals doubled the Miramichi Timberwolves 4-2 on
Sunday night to even the Maritime Junior 'A' Hockey League's best-of-seven
Roger Meek Division semifinal series 1-1. Miramichi won the opener 1-0
Saturday.

Caps enter series vs. Timberwolves as underdogs

SUMMERSIDE - It's a case of role reversal for the Summerside Western
Capitals and Miramichi Timberwolves in this year's Maritime Junior 'A'
Hockey League playoffs.
Last season, the Capitals went into the Roger Meek Division final with
home-ice advantage and the better regular-season record. This year, though,
it's the Timberwolves who enjoy the extra home game after finishing higher
in standings.

Caps Split Weekend Games

SUMMERSIDE - The Summerside Western Capitals worked a little overtime and then some in back-to-back Maritime Junior 'A' Hockey League games over the weekend.
After defeating the Dieppe Commandos 2-1 in a shootout on Saturday night, the Capitals dropped a 3-2 shootout decision to the Miramichi Timberwolves in a playoff preview on home ice Sunday afternoon.

SUMMERSIDE - The Bridgewater Lumberjacks scored three unanswered goals over
a span of 7:18 in the third period to stage a 4-2 come-from-behind win over
the Summerside Western Capitals on Sunday night.

Caps Dump Tigers

CAMPBELLTON, N.B. — The Summerside Western Capitals started off a three-game weekend on a winning note Friday night.
The Capitals jumped out to period leads of 3-1 and 6-2 en route to an 8-3 victory over the Campbellton Tigers in a Maritime Junior ‘A’ Hockey League contest. The Capitals visit the Miramichi Timberwolves tonight, and then host Bridgewater on Sunday at 6 p.m. Fans are asked to note the start time has been changed.
