Western Capitals sign Lincoln Waugh
The Summerside Western Capitals are pleased to announce the signing of defenceman Lincoln Waugh.A native of Summerside, the 2006-born defenceman returns to the Western Capitals after spending the past two seasons with the Halifax Mooseheads of the QMJHL. Waugh appeared in 82 games, including regular season and playoffs, during his two seasons in Halifax.
Before making the jump to the QMJHL, Waugh spent two seasons with his hometown Western Capitals. In 95 career games, including regular season and playoffs, he recorded 11 goals, 34 assists and 45 points, while adding 81 penalty minutes.
Originally drafted by the Western Capitals in the 2022 MHL Draft, Waugh was also selected by the Cape Breton Eagles in the third round of the 2022 QMJHL Entry Draft. He appeared in 23 games with Cape Breton before being traded to Halifax in August 2024.
Now, Lincoln returns home with valuable major junior experience under his belt and is expected to be an important leader for the Western Capitals this season.
