SUMMERSIDE, PE – Caps Sign Ontario Forward

The Summerside D Alex MacDonald Western Capitals are excited to announce the signing of 2003 born, 6’2” Mississauga, Ontario native, forward Justin Ertel. The 3^rd round pick of the North Bay Battalion in 2019, joins the Caps from St. Andrew’s College in Aurora, Ontario, where he accumulated 51 goals and 69 assists for 120 points plus 60 PIM’s in 68 games last year.

Justin has committed to play at Cornell University starting in 2022. He is also currently on the NHL Draft players to watch for the 2021 NHL Draft.

Caps GM Pat McIver says “We are thrilled to add Justin to the lineup. We expect him to be able to contribute as soon as we are back playing games.”  Justin completed his 14-day quarantine on the weekend and will begin practicing with the team this week.

On behalf of the Caps staff, McIver also wanted to thank the coaches and administration at St. Andrew’s College for working to make this move happen.
