  YARMOUTH, N.S. - The Summerside Western Capitals will begin their post-Christmas schedule in the Maritime Junior 'A' Hockey League tonight.
The Capitals will visit the Yarmouth Mariners in the first of back-to-back games. The teams will also play Sunday at 4 p.m.
The Capitals go into weekend action 16-12-0-0 (won-lost-overtime losses-shootout losses), good enough for third in the Roger Meek Division. The Caps trail Miramichi (17-12-0-0) by two points.
The Mariners, who are now in the hands of a new ownership group consisting of Yarmouth's Mitch Bonnar and Keith Condon, is fifth in the Maurice Bent Division at 11-15-2-2. It was also announced Thursday that Laurie Barron will return as Mariners head coach against the Capitals.
The Capitals will be without rookie forwards Darcy Ashley and Jason Cameron, who are playing for Team Atlantic at the World Under-17 Hockey Challenge in Timmons, Ont.
The Capitals' next home game is against the Pictou County Weeks Crushers on Sunday, Jan. 10, at 2 p.m.
