SUMMERSIDE- The Maritime Junior “A” Hockey League has announced that Darcy Ashley of the Summerside Western Capitals has been named the League’s player of the week for the week ending September 20th.

The sixteen year-old native of Alberton, PE is currently leading the MJAHL in scoring with 11 points in four games. His five goals is also tops among MJAHL players. In three games last week the rookie scored nine points on three goals and six assists in helping his team to two wins.

Ashley was drafted by the Capitals in the first round, fourth overall in the 2009 MJAHL Entry Draft. He is a product of the Cornwall Superior Thunder Major Midget program.
