  MIRAMICHI -- The Summerside Western Capitals are the Maritime Junior 'A' Hockey League's Roger Meek Division champions. The Capitals downed the MIramichi Timerwolves 5-4, making it a clean sweep in the best-of-seven division final. It's the second division title for the Caps in three years. The game was played at the Miramichi Civic Centre. Opening up the scoring at 4:18 in the first was Brett Gallant with an unassisted goal. Then, Neil Sherren, on a pass from Josh McKinnon, scored at 5:26. The Caps went into the second with a 2-0 lead over the Timberwolves. The Timberwolves clawed their way back in the second, with Jesse MacIntyre scoring on penalty shot at 4:46 followed by Jason Bergeron at 6:30, tying up the game 2-2. Then Brad Smith captured the lead for the Caps, scoring at 8:47 in the second, Assisting on the goal were Harrison McIver and Josh Currie. At 16:31, Justin Barbour's goal tied the game 3-3 heading into the third. Smith would open up third-period scoring, netting a goal only 34 seconds into the period for a 4-3 lead for the Caps. Miramichi's Josh McCormack would score on the powerplay at 8:01 to tie the game 4-4. It was Smith's third goal of the night at 15:27and on the powerplay that won the game and the division title for the Capitals. The goal was unassisted. MIramichi's Bradley Dyke was named third star; Capitals goalie Alex Dupuis second star; and Smith first star. Dupuis stopped 36 of 40 shots on goal and Dyke, 32 of 37.   Officials for Saturday night's game, played before 1,373 fans, were Tom Clarkson, Judson Waye and Jeff Silliker. The Caps go on to play the winner in Maurice Bent Division best-of-seven series final. That series, played by the Truro Bearcats and Amherst Rambles, is tied 2-2.
