The Summerside Western Capitals led the eleven team Maritime Junior A Hockey League in attendance this year with an average of 981 fans per game and so far that number has doubled in the team’s first three home playoff games.    In the playoffs, the average attendance is just under 2,000 fans, and in an effort to meet ticket demand, Credit Union Place has initiated a number of enhancements for the purchasing of playoff tickets.   Beat the line and buy online.  To avoid lineups at the Box Office, Credit Union Place encourages the purchasing of tickets online at www.city.summerside.pe.ca .  Tickets can be purchased online 24 hours a day, seven days a week.  A number of incentives have been introduced for the remainder of the playoffs for online ticket purchases, including the waiving of online service fees, as well, for each ticket purchased online, fans will receive a coupon for a free public swim.   Individuals purchasing tickets online will also have their name entered in a draw to win a pair of tickets to the next Western Capitals home playoff game.   On game days, one ticket booth will be available for fans wishing to choose their own seats.  For faster service, Credit Union Place encourages the use of the two ticket booths that are available for best seats in the house ticket sales.    For the remainder of the playoffs, a fourth ticket booth will be available for cash sales for standing room only ticket sales.   Gordon MacFarlane, Acting Director for the Community Services Department stated, “Credit Union Place strives to provide terrific customer service and these changes to ticket sales at the box office are in response to the great crowds at the Western Capitals games and an effort to reduce the wait times for ticket purchases.  There are several options to purchase tickets before game day, and we encourage fans to get their tickets early by buying online, by phone or by coming to the box office.”   Credit Union Place Box Office is open seven days a week from 12 noon to 8pm for walk-in ticket sales and tickets can also be purchased over the phone by calling 432-1234.
